Coffee lovers pay attention!! Could it be I have stumbled across one of Brisbane’s best kept coffee secrets? Or could it be I’m just out of touch and I’m actually very late to the party? Whatever it is….I’ve found it and I like it.
The Coffee Supplier is Brisbane’s first CBD located boutique roaster and while I’m not particularly interested in what beans I can have at home (that investment hasn’t been made as yet), I am interested in what sort of pleasure in a cup these guys can provide to support my one-to-two hits a day habit.

To be honest, I don’t know how anyone found this place in the first instance – who knew there was a laneway just up from the Elizabeth St Arcade anyway? Credit due to Fatman 1 who directed me down this lonely alleyway one morning, as we searched for a stimulating cup of goodness to kick the day into life.

The Coffee Supplier is located in what was the old Jimmy’s on the Mall prep kitchen back in the days when the Myer Centre had a roller coaster on the top floor. The laneway has been named Stereo Lane, unofficially and for the purposes of Brisbane City Council’s current laneways promotion. Inside the big warehouse is a shed load of room for catching up with friends or holding a meeting.

I couldn’t resist chatting to the staff as I was rather awestruck by the whole set up and fell in love with the huge coffee roaster that took up prime real estate to one side of the room. James O’loughlin is the director and kindly spent some time with me to show off his beloved roaster and explained to me that their goal was to provide Brisbane coffee lovers with the experience of having the freshest beans possible for their home or office.

The Coffee Supplier boasts to roast only in small batches and ensures your coffee order isn’t part of a huge roasting schedule. They hand deliver to offices in the CBD and you can place your order conveniently online, choosing from their blends such as Prima, Espresso, Europa, Organic and Decaf.

In-store, they serve what I believe is Brisbane’s best coffee and they love doing it. There’s nothing better than getting that first cup in the morning from someone who loved making it. If you’ve got some time to go exploring, head down Stereo Lane for a gander and soak up the vibe that The Coffee Supplier offers.
