I’m not even going to bother with the puns about ‘buzzing Buzz‘ or ‘lots of buzz about Buzz‘ – you’ve probably heard them all already.
So let me just say that bright and cheery Buzz (love the red and white stripey awnings) served up one of the most satisfying and delicious breakfasts that I’ve had in a while.
I’m a bit of a going-out-for-breakfast sceptic so it’s got to be pretty special to capture my attention. Buzz didn’t start off well with the confusing service (something about the chef being unable to mentally psych himself up for the lunch menu, could I please come back and order my portion of the table’s bill in 10 minutes) but the excellent food won me over.

First of all, a Di Bella cappucino ($3.50) which received a 8/10 rating from the coffee drinker. Then came a pair of berry hotcakes – crisp on the outside, fluffy on the inside – served with grilled mango cheek, maple syrup and (bleh) commercial vanilla ice cream ($13.50); eggs benedict with the smoked salmon gingerly dipping its feet in some gooey hollandaise; and my fabulous French Toast ($13.50), unusually served with the ricotta sandwiched between thick slices of fried bread, artfully arranged in a pool of maple syrup and topped with lots of crunchy almond slivers for texture. It was definitely one of the better versions of French toast I’ve had in a while and for that alone it’s worth returning to Buzz – just look at that picture!
