HOT: Belesis Cafe – 198 Old Cleveland Rd, Coorparoo

For a small and understated suburban venue with minimalistic signage, mind Belesis has a thriving trade and from what I can tell, sildenafil this isn’t limited to the brunch-time goers on the weekends.  On the odd occasion that I’ve wandered past at lunch during the week (when I’m ‘working’ from home…) or driving past in the evenings, the staff at Belesis always have a reasonable sized crowd to attend to.

I’ve only ever sampled the breakfast menu at Belesis and in my humble opinion, they do a really good service at a really good price….and it’s refreshing, because the food is wholesome, honest and simple.  Whilst MM and I will often chase a fanciful lunch or dinner with all sorts of frills attached, we find it hard to go past a simple home-made breakfast.  We’re not fussed on cooking it ourselves of course, so Belesis is often our home-made breakfast away from home.

Their brekkie menu has the stock standard options of bacon, eggs, hashies, mushies, beans and all the stuff that makes you feel totally satisfied, particularly if you’re nursing half a hangover.  If you’re not after a fry-up, they also have the usual cereal, toast, fruit and generally healthier options, plus the coffees are always good.

Our usual choices consist of an omelette with typical additives of tomato, cheese and ham, or the poached bacon and eggs.  The servings are always ample, the service is quick as you like and the bill is usually under $30 for the two of us.

Belesis boasts Greek and Mediterranean influences however I’ve never really noticed this in their breakfast menu.  Their lunch or dinner service is next on my list – I wonder if that honest, home-style goodness will still carry through?
